A stream finds its way

I have left a blue line between the roof sketches in my notebook. Cheonggyecheon gives this part of Seoul a different shape: flowing water below the busy streets. Roads once covered the stream. A restoration project from 2003 to 2005 removed that covering and brought a public waterway back into the city's daily life.

If an open path offers a comfortable place to stop, put the screen away for a moment. Notice a bridge, a reflection or the distance between the water and the road. The city has layers you can hear as well as see.

My blue line would curve a little. A place can change direction and still belong to its city. I like leaving room for that in a travel day, too.
