This website does not add analytics, advertising trackers, cookies or an email collection form. Fonts and images are hosted with the site. The travel checklist runs only in the current page; its answers are not stored or transmitted. Your browser still makes ordinary requests to the hosting provider, which may process IP addresses and connection logs to deliver and secure the website. External store and source links are operated by their respective providers.
Inside Kapibara Maps
Searches, route calculations, collections, notes, stories and memories are processed on your phone. The app has no account, advertising, analytics SDK or application backend. It stores the origin, destination and mode of your last planned route so you can choose to calculate it again. It does not record a continuous location history or send your location to an application server.
Location and voice
Location permission is requested when you choose a location feature or start guidance. If you enable screen-lock guidance, an active journey may continue receiving location updates in the background. Android shows an ongoing notification; iOS uses its location indicator. Stopping guidance ends updates. Force quitting or system termination ends guidance. Your device’s own location services and installed voices operate under its settings.
Your journal
Reading a story never marks a place as visited. You choose when to save a memory. Export creates a file of saved places, notes, collections, memories and reading history. Restore replaces the current journal after confirmation and validation. Travel kit lets you delete the journal. Preferences may be included in operating-system backups; offline data directories are excluded from cloud backups.
Updates and external links
A requested map update connects directly to Geofabrik, which receives ordinary connection information such as your IP address. Opening a source or business website uses an external service. Imported files are copied and checked locally. No user data is sold.
